2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Inspection Procedure

  1. Check voltage between terminal PI and GND of ECM connector. 

    PREPARATION:

    Turn ignition switch ON.

    CHECK:

    Measure voltage between terminals PI and GND of ECM connector when main switch is held on and off.

    OK:

    SWITCH VOLTAGE REFERENCE

    Switch position Voltage
    OFF 9 - 14 V
    ON 0 -3 V

    1. OK : Proceed to next circuit inspection shown on problem symptom table (See  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  ). 
    2. NG : Go to Next Step 
  2. Check combination meter (See  CIRCUIT  ). 
    1. NG : Replace combination meter. 
    2. OK : Check and replace ECM (See  HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ).
