Rear Cooling Unit: Inspection

2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Inspection

  1. INSPECT BLOWER MOTOR (See  REAR BLOWER MOTOR CIRCUIT  ). 
  2. INSPECT REAR MAGNETIC VALVE (See  REAR MAGNETIC VALVE CIRCUIT  ). 
  3. INSPECT SMOKE SENSOR (See  SMOKE SENSOR CIRCUIT  ). 
  4. INSPECT EVAPORATOR 
    1. Check the evaporator fins for blockage.

      If the fins are clogged, clean them with compressed air.

      NOTE: Never use water to clean the evaporator.
    2. Check the fitting for cracks or scratches.

    If necessary repair or replace.

  5. INSPECT COOLING BOX LIGHT 
    1. Connect positive (+) lead to terminal 1 and negative (-) lead to terminal 2.
    2. Check that the cooling box light lights up.

    If cooling box light does not light up, replace the cooling box light.
