- INSPECT CONDENSER FAN OPERATION
Inspect the fan operation in these conditions, as shown in the chart below.
Test conditions:
- Start engine
- Blower speed control switch position "HI"
- Temperature control dial at "COOL" position
- Set manifold gauge set
- A/C switch ON
If operation is not as specified, proceed to the next inspection.
- INSPECT CONDENSER FAN MOTOR OPERATION
- Disconnect the fan connector.
- Connect battery and ammeter to the fan connector, as shown in the illustration.
- Check that the fan rotates smoothly and check the reading on the ammeter.
- Specified amperage: 9.8 +/- 1.5 A at 20°C (68°F)
- If operation is not as specified, replace the fan motor. (See RADIATOR )
- If operation is as specified, check the pressure switch, cooling fan relays and water temp. switch.
