HINT:
Start the inspection from step 1 when using the hand-held tester and start from step 2 when not using the hand-held tester.
- Read value of hand-held tester (transponder key ECU (switch condition)).
PREPARATION:
- Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch ON with the key with which the engine does not start.
CHECK:
Select the item "KEY SW" on the hand-held tester.
OK:
MONITOR DISPLAY CONDITIONMonitor Display Condition OFF Key is in ignition key cylinder ON No key in ignition key cylinder
- NG : Go to step 2.
- OK : Replace transponder key ECU.
- Inspect unlock warning switch (See INSPECTION
).
- NG : Replace unlock warning switch.
- OK : Go to next step.
- Check harness and connector between transponder key ECU and unlock warning switch, and unlock warning switch and body ground. (See HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE
).
- NG : Repair or replace harness or connector.
- OK : Replace transponder key ECU.
