2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Inspection Procedure

NOTE: In case of using the TOYOTA hand-held tester, start the inspection from step 1 and in case of not using the TOYOTA hand-held tester, start from step  2.
  1. Check The Back Door Lock Motor Using TOYOTA Hand-Held Tester. 

    PREPARATION:  Connect the TOYOTA hand-held tester to the DLC3.

    CHECK:  that the back door lock motor can operate in an ACTIVE TEST.

    1. OK:  Proceed to next circuit inspection shown on problem symptom table. See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE .
    2. NG  : Go to step  2.
  2. Check  Back Door Lock Motor  . 
    1. NG:  Replace the back door lock motor.
    2. OK:  Go to step  3.
  3. Check Wiring Harness And Connector Between Back Door Lock Motor And Back Door ECU. 
    1. NG:  Repair or replace wiring harness or connector.
    2. OK:  Proceed to next circuit inspection shown on problem symptoms table . SeePROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE .
