Passenger-Side Air Bag Module: Removal

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONSΒ . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEMΒ . Remove bolts from glove box door hinge and remove glove box. Remove 4 Torx bolts retaining passenger-side air bag module to instrument panel. See Figure.
  2. Lift air bag module out of instrument panel and disconnect connector from harness. Remove air bag module from vehicle. If air bag module is to be replaced, record serial number.
NOTE: If air bag module is being replaced, record bar code of air bag modules on air bag information sticker.
