Compressor And Magnetic Clutch: Disassembly

2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Disassembly

  1. Remove pressure plate 
    1. Using SST and a socket wrench, remove the shaft bolt. See Fig 1.

      SST 07112-76060

      Torque: 18 N.m (184 kgf.cm, 12.3 ft.lbf)

    2. Install SST on the pressure plate. See Fig 2.

    3. Using SST and socket wrench, remove the pressure plate. See Fig 3.

    4. Remove the shims from the pressure plate. See Fig 4.

  2. Remove rotor  :
      NOTE: The snap ring should be installed so that beveled side faces up. See Fig 6.
