Gearshift Cable: Installation

2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Installation

  1. Install gearshift cable to vehicle. Secure grommet.
  2. Install gearshift cable to shift mechanism. See Figure .
  3. Install center console assembly. See Figure .
  4. Install PRNDL surround bezel. See Figure .
  5. Install gearshift bezel. See Figure .
  6. Install gearshift knob. See Figure .
  7. From underhood, install gearshift cable to transaxle bracket. See Figure .
  8. Install cable to transaxle manual valve lever.
  9. Adjust gearshift cable.
  10. Connect battery negative cable.
