2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Diagnosis & Repair

  1. Disconnect VVT sensor harness connector. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between sensor terminals. Resistance should be 835-1400 ohms at 14-122Β°F (-10-50Β°C) or 1060-1645 ohms at 122-212Β°F (50-100Β°C). Check resistance at each VVT sensor.
  2. Check the output waveform. See Fig 1 - Fig 3 .
