Ignition Switch

2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Ignition Switch

  1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
  2. Remove the instrument panel finish lower panel left side. See Fig 1.
      NOTE: Place tape on screwdriver tip to avoid damage.
    1. Using a screwdriver, open the cover of the instrument panel finish lower panel left side.
    2. Remove the bolt "D" and screws "H". See Fig 1.
    3. Disconnect the hood lock control cable.
    4. Disengage the 4 clips. See Fig 1 and remove the instrument panel finish lower panel left side.
    5. Disconnect the connectors.
  3. Remove ignition switch.
    1. Disconnect the ignition switch connector and unlock switch connector.
    2. Remove clamp.
    3. Remove the 2 screws and ignition switch.
