Power Brake Unit Push Rod

2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Power Brake Unit Push Rod

NOTE: Adjust clearance with no vacuum applied inside booster. With engine stopped, press brake pedal several times to release residual vacuum.

Install 2 new gaskets on master cylinder. Set special tool, or SST (09737-00011) on gasket and lower pin until its tip slightly touches piston. See Fig 1. Turn SST (09737-00011) upside down, and set it on booster. Measure clearance between booster push rod and pin head. There should be no clearance. Adjust booster push rod length until push rod lightly touches pin head.
