Link System

2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Link System
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Lexus SC 430. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

If ignition switch is turned to ON position with air bag sensor assembly connectors disconnected, or if vehicle battery is removed with ignition switch in ON position, system will determine this condition as a failure and will automatically call the Lexus call center. When an accidental call is made automatically, access call center and ask them to cut off the line.

To prevent this, perform the following when doing work related to air bag sensor assembly or battery:

  • Disconnect connectors of Mayday ECU and back up battery before disconnecting air bag sensor assembly. Mayday ECU is located at left front upper corner of luggage compartment next to GPS antenna.
  • Ensure ignition switch is in OFF position when removing battery.
  • If no signal has been received from air bag sensor assembly since ignition switch was turned on, a service call will be made.
  • If good signal reception from air bag sensor assembly after ignition switch is turned on is interrupted, an emergency call will be made.
