Park/Neutral Position Switch: Removal

2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Removal

  1. Raise and support vehicle.
  2. Remove No. 1 and 2 engine under covers.
  3. Remove front and center exhaust pipes. See Figure
  4. Remove 4 bolts and heat insulator.
  5. Disconnect PNP switch connector.
  6. Remove PNP switch using the following steps:
    1. Remove nut and shift lever.
    2. Use screwdriver to pry off lock washer and remove nut.
    3. Remove bolt and pull out PNP switch. See Figure.
