  1. Outline Of Anti-Theft System -  When the anti-theft system detects any theft, it informs people around with flashing lights and sound. All initial setting are performed in active mode. It can be switched to passive mode by specified operation. See  4. There are 4 conditions in this system which are:
    • Disarmed State -  When the alarming function does not operate and when anti-theft function is not performed.
    • Arming Preparation -  Time until transferring to armed state and anti-theft function is not performed.
    • Armed State -  When anti-theft function is possible.
    • Alarm Sounding -  In this condition, once theft is detected, it is uses light and sound to inform people around the vehicle. Alarming method is horn, security horn, headlights, taillights, hazards and interior lights. Alarming time is 60 seconds. Alarming output is continuous 0.4 seconds when ON and 0.4 seconds when OFF. Alarming output for hazard is the same as the one for the hazard on the vehicle. When alarming, the interior light is lit. In the arming condition when either of the doors is unlocked with the key not in the key cylinder, a force lock signal is output.
  2. Active Arming Mode -  For active arming mode flowchart, see Fig 1. For indicator light output, see INSPECTING INDICATOR LIGHT OUTPUT (ACTIVE ARMING MODE)  table. The flashing frequency is 0.2 seconds when ON and 1.8 seconds when OFF. The hazard lights flash as answer back under the following conditions:
    • System Is Set -  When arming preparation is set from the disarmed state using the wireless door lock, the hazard lights flash once.
    • System Is Released -  When the disarmed state is set from either arming preparation, armed state or alarm sounding using the wireless door lock, the hazard lights flash twice.
INSPECTING INDICATOR LIGHT OUTPUT (ACTIVE ARMING MODE)

    Condition Indicator Light
    Disarmed State (1) OFF
    Arming Preparation ON
    Armed State (2) OFF
    Alarm Sounding ON
    (1) Even in the disarmed state, the indicator light flashes due to the signal output from the immobilizer system.
    (2) The indicator always flashes when receiving the signal from the immobilizer system at any time in the armed state.
  3. Passive Arming Mode -  This mode can be switched according to the specified operation. All initially set modes (when shipped from factory) are active mode (no passive mode). For passive arming mode flowchart, see Fig 2. In armed state either closed door is opened, entry delay occurs (14 seconds). During this time, the mode transfers to disarmed state when the condition described above is met. When the condition is not met, the system judges when theft occurs, the mode transfers to alarm sounding. See Fig 3. For indicator light output, see INSPECTING INDICATOR LIGHT OUTPUT (PASSIVE ARMING MODE)  table. The flashing frequency is 0.2 seconds when ON and 1.8 seconds when OFF.
INSPECTING INDICATOR LIGHT OUTPUT (PASSIVE ARMING MODE)

    Condition Indicator Light
    Disarmed State (1) OFF
    Disarmed Preparation ON
Armed State (Entry Delay Time) (2) OFF (ON)
    Alarming Sounding ON
    (1) Even in the disarmed state, the indicator light flashes due to the signal output from the immobilizer system.
    (2) The indicator always flashes when receiving the signal from the immobilizer system at any time in the armed state.
    1. Transfer To Active Mode -  In each passive mode, when disarmed state of active mode to arming preparation transfer condition is met, the active mode transfers to each condition. In this case, active mode continues till disarmed state. See IDENTIFYING TRANSFER TO ACTIVE MODE  table.
      IDENTIFYING TRANSFER TO ACTIVE MODE

Passive Mode When Transfer Condition Is Met Active Mode Transfer Condition
      Disarming Condition Arming Preparation Condition
Arming Preparation Condition Arming Preparation Condition
Arming Condition (During Entry Delay Time) Arming Condition (After Alarming Time Has Elapsed, Arming Condition)
Alarming Sounding After Alarming Time Has Elapsed, Arming Condition
    2. Answer Back -  The hazard lights flash as answer back under the following conditions:

      • System Is Set

When arming preparation is set from the disarmed state using the wireless door lock, the hazard lights flash once.
      • System Is Released

When the disarmed state is set from either arming preparation, armed state or alarm sounding using the wireless door lock, the hazard lights flash twice.
  4. Changing Method Of Passive Mode (ON Or OFF) -  Using the hand-held tester, the mode can be changed to the passive mode.
  5. Using Hand-Held Tester -  Hook up the hand-held tester to the DLC3. See Fig 4. Monitor the ECU data by following the prompts on the tester screen. The hand-held tester has a Snapshot function which records the monitored data. Refer to the hand-held tester operator's manual for further details.
