2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Inspection Procedure

  1. Check the continuity of the ECU-IG and RADIO NO. 2 fuses. See COMPONENT LOCATIONSΒ . If there is continuity, go to the next step. If there is not continuity, replace the failed fuse.
  2. Turn the ignition switch ON. Measure the voltage between terminals No. 4 (ACC), No. 3 (IG) and No. 12 (GND) of the body ECU connector. See CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATIONΒ . If voltage is 10-14 V, proceed to the next circuit inspection of the symptom. See PROBLEM SYMPTOM INDEXΒ  table. If the voltage is not as specified, go to the next step.
  3. Check the wiring harness and connector between the body ECU and body ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMSΒ . If the results are OK, check and repair the wiring harness and connector between the body ECU and battery. If the results are not OK, repair or replace the wiring harness or connector.
