Brake Actuator Assembly: Installation

2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Installation

  1. To install, reverse removal procedure. Install the 3 cushions and 2 holders to the brake actuator. Install the brake actuator to the bracket with the 2 nuts and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ .
  2. Install the bolt, 2 nuts and brake actuator assembly. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ .
  3. Connect the 2 connectors and brake hose to the brake actuator.
  4. Using special tool (09751-36011), connect the 6 brake lines to the actuator and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ .
  5. Install the front fender liner, splash shield and outside molding.
  6. Install engine room No. 3 R/B and engine room side cover.
  7. Fill reservoir with brake fluid and bleed system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEMΒ .
  8. Check for leaks.
