2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Inspection Procedure

  1. Turn the ignition switch ON. Measure the voltage between terminals No. 5 (PI) and 16 (GND) of the cruise control ECU connector when the main switch is ON and OFF. The results are OK if there is 10-16 volts when the switch is OFF and if there is below 1.2 volts when the switch is ON. If the results are OK, proceed to the next circuit inspection of the symptom. See PROBLEM SYMPTOM INDEXΒ  table. If the results are not OK, go to the next step.
  2. Check the combination meter. See appropriate INSTRUMENT PANEL article. If the results are OK, check and replace the cruise control ECU. See CRUISE CONTROL ECUΒ  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If the results are not OK, replace the combination meter. See appropriate INSTRUMENT PANEL article.
