Brake Actuator Assembly: Removal

2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Removal

  1. Remove air cleaner inlet and air cleaner. See Fig 1.
  2. Using special tool (09023-00100), disconnect 6 brake lines from actuator. Use tags or make a note to identify positions to reconnect brake lines. See Fig 1.
  3. Disconnect brake hose and connector.
  4. Remove nut, 2 bolts and actuator assembly.
  5. Remove 2 nuts and brake actuator from bracket. Remove 2 cushion bolts and 3 cushions from brake actuator.
