Parking Brake Switch
Inspect the parking brake switch continuity. Check that continuity exists between the terminal and switch body with the switch ON (switch pin released). See Fig 1. Check that no continuity exists between the terminal and switch body with the switch OFF (switch pin pushed in). If operation is not as specified, replace the switch or inspect the ground point.

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:

- • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- • The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
