Brake Actuator Assembly: Installation
2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Installation

- To install, reverse removal procedure. Install 3 cushions and 2 holders to brake actuator. Install brake actuator to bracket with 2 nuts and, using special tool (09023-00100), tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ .
- Install brake actuator with bracket and tighten 3 nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ .
- Connect the brake actuator harness connector.
- Using special tool (09023-00100), connect the 6 brake lines to the actuator.
- Fill reservoir with brake fluid and bleed master cylinder. See MASTER CYLINDERΒ under BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM.
- Bleed brake line. See BRAKE LINEΒ under BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM.
- Check fluid level in reservoir and check for brake fluid leakage. Check operation of brake actuator. See BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLYΒ under COMPONENT TESTS.
