2004 Toyota Matrix XR, FWD, StandardSECTION Without Hand-Held Sensor

  1. Turn ignition switch to ON.
  2. Using special tool (09843-18040), jumper between terminals Tc and CG of (DLC3). See Figure.
  3. Start engine and check that ABS warning light flashes. If ABS warning light does not flash, inspect ABS warning light circuit and Ts circuit. See TEST BΒ , TEST CΒ  and TEST FΒ  under SYSTEM TESTING.
  4. Drive vehicle straight forward faster than 28 mph for several seconds.
  5. Stop vehicle. Read flashes of the ABS warning light to retrieve DTCs. If any DTCs are retrieved, perform appropriate test. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONSΒ .
  6. If 2 or more malfunctions are indicated at the same time, the lowest numbered DTC will be displayed.
  7. After performing check, turn ignition switch off and remove special tool from (DLC3).
