  1. Check the continuity between the connector terminals when operating the rheostat volume knob. For connector view, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATIONΒ . See RHEOSTAT VOLUME KNOB STANDARD CONTINUITYΒ  table.
    RHEOSTAT VOLUME KNOB STANDARD CONTINUITY

    Switch Terminal No. (Symbol) Continuity
    Turn The Knob To Maximum 1 (TC) To 3 (T) Continuity
    Other Condition Of The Above 1 (TC) To 3 (T) No Continuity
  2. Check the resistance between terminals No. 4 (RV) and 3 (T) when operating the rheostat volume knob. See Fig 1. Also, check that the resistance changes continuously. Standard resistance: turn the knob to maximum - approximately 10 k Ohms, turn the knob to minimum - approximately 0 Ohms.
