  1. The following actions will erase the DTCs and freeze frame data.
    • Operating the OBD II scan tool (complying with SAE J1978) or the hand-held tester to erase the codes. See the OBD II scan tool's instruction book for operating instructions.
    • Disconnecting the battery terminals. However, when battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See appropriate COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.
    • Removing the EFI fuse, (located in left side engine room Junction Box), for 10 seconds or more with the ignition switch off.
    • Removing the ECU-B fuse, (located in driver side Junction Box), for 10 seconds or more with the ignition switch off.
  2. Check that the normal code is displayed after clearing DTC(s).
