- Check the wireless door lock functions:
- Check that the wireless door lock functions by the operation of the transmitter switch. If the wireless door lock/unlock operation can be done, it means that the wireless instruction from the transmitter is properly input to the theft warning ECU. If the results are OK, go to the next step. If the results are not good, go to TEST B: ONLY WIRELESS CONTROL FUNCTION IS INOPERATIVE (PREPARE NEW OR NORMAL TRANSMITTER OF THE SAME TYPE VEHICLE)Β .
- Check the outputs of the hazard warning lights. Check that the turn signal light is blinking when the hazard warning signal switch is pressed. If the results are OK, go to the next step. If the results are not good, go to appropriate EXTERIOR LIGHTS article.
- Do the active test of the hand-held tester. Check that the wireless buzzer sounds by the active test. See ACTIVE TESTΒ table. If the results are OK, go to step Β 6. If the results are not good, go to the next step.
- Inspect the wireless door lock buzzer. See Fig 2. If the results are OK, go to the next step. If the results are not good, replace the wireless door lock buzzer. See WIRELESS DOOR LOCK BUZZER & BUZZER CONTROLLERΒ under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Check the wireless door lock buzzer controller and wireless door lock buzzer wiring harness. See Fig 3. If the results are OK, go to the next step. If the results are not good, repair or replace the harness and connector.
- Inspect the wireless door lock buzzer controller. See TRANSMITTER SUB-ASSEMBLY MODULE SET DOOR CONTROLΒ under COMPONENT TESTS. If the results are OK, go to the next step. If the results are not good, replace the wireless door lock buzzer controller. See WIRELESS DOOR LOCK BUZZER & BUZZER CONTROLLERΒ under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Check the wireless door lock buzzer controller wiring harness. See Fig 4. If the results are OK, replace the multiplex network body ECU. See MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM article in COMMUNICATION DEVICES. If the results are not good, repair or replace the harness and connector.
