Inspection Procedure
HINT:
In case of not using the LEXUS hand-held tester, start from STEP 2.
- Check position sensor signal.
PREPARATION:
Connect the LEXUS hand-held tester to the DLC3.
CHECK:
- Enter into the DATA LIST function of the LEXUS hand-held tester.
- When operating each adjustment function of seat by turning the power seat control switch of the vehicle, check that "Position sensor" value changes on the screen of LEXUS hand-held tester.
- When operating each adjustment function of seat by turning the power seat control switch of the vehicle, check that "Motor status" changes from OFF to ON on the screen of LEXUS hand-held tester.
HINT:
When the seat is moved to the limit positions, "Lock" is displayed in the column of "Motor status" on the screen of LEXUS hand-held tester. At that time, releasing the power seat control switch turns it OFF.
- NG : Check and replace power seat ECU (See HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE ).
- OK : Go to next step.
- Check position sensor.
- NG : Replace power seat motor.
- OK : Go to next step.
- Check harness and connectors between driver seat ECU and position sensors (See HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE
).
- NG : Repair or replace harness or connectors.
- OK : Check and replace driver seat ECU (See HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE ).

When to See a Mechanic
