Wheel Speed Sensor (Front): Installation

- Clean the contacting surface of the axle hub and a new speed sensor. Do not stick any foreign objects to the sensor rotor.
- Place the speed sensor on the axle hub so that the connector will be correctly positioned. See Fig 1.
- Using special tool (09214-76011) and a press, install a new speed sensor to the axle hub. Do not tap the speed sensor with a hammer. Check that there are no foreign objects on the speed sensor detection portion. Press in the speed sensor straight and slowly. See Fig 2.
- Connect the flexible hose and speed sensor harness clamp to the shock absorber and tighten bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ .
- To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all bolts and nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ .
- Connect speed sensor connector.
- Install front fender liner and front wheel and tighten lug nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ .
- Check speed sensor signal. See ABS SENSOR SIGNAL CHECKΒ under COMPONENT TESTS.
