2004 Toyota Celica GT, StandardSECTION Diagnostic Procedure

NOTE: If not using the hand-held tester, start the inspection from step Β 2.
  1. Check the anti-theft indicator using the hand-held tester. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3. See Figure. Connect terminals Tc and E1 of the DLC1. See CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATIONΒ . Check that the anti-theft indicator can light in an ACTIVE TEST. If the results are OK, perform the next test procedure of the problem symptom. See step Β 4 of the SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING. If the results are not good, go to the next step.
  2. Check the anti-theft indicator. See ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM article under DOOR LOCKS & ANTI-THEFT SYSTEMS in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. If the results are OK, go to the next step. If the results are not good, replace the anti-theft indicator.
  3. Check the wiring harness and connector between the anti-theft indicator and body ECU, anti-theft indicator and body ground. If the results are OK, perform the next test procedure of the problem symptom. See step Β 4 of the SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING. If the results are not good, repair or replace the wiring harness or connector.
