System Operation Check: Notes
With vehicle operating at a speed greater than 25 MPH, turn cruise control switch to ON position and test cruise control switch functions. If CRUISE indicator light on instrument cluster does not illuminate when cruise control switch is in ON position, diagnose CRUISE indicator light. See SYMPTOM INDEX table under SYSTEM TESTS.

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:

- • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- • The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
- • You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
- • You are not confident in the next step or safety outcome.
