Stoplight Switch
Turn ignition off. Disconnect 4-pin electrical harness connector from stoplight switch. Stoplight switch is located near top of brake pedal. Using a DVOM, measure continuity between specified terminals with stoplight switch depressed and released. See Fig 1. See STOPLIGHT SWITCH CONTINUITY TESTΒ table. If continuity is not as specified, replace and adjust stoplight switch. See BRAKELIGHT SWITCH article in REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION - V6 & V8.

When to See a Mechanic
