OBD II scan tool (excluding hand-held tester)
- Check voltage between terminal STA of ECM connector and body ground.
PREPARATION:
- Remove the ECM cover.
- Turn the ignition switch ON.
CHECK:
Measure the voltage between terminal STA of the ECM connector and body ground during the engine cranking.
OK:
Voltage:
0 V (Ignition switch ON)
6 V or more (Engine cranking)
- OK : Go to step 5 .
- NG : Go to next step.
- Check park/neutral position switch or clutch start switch.
- Inspect the park/neutral position switch (A/T) (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION ).
- Inspect the clutch start switch (M/T) (See INSPECTION ).
- NG : Replace park/neutral position switch or clutch start switch. Go to next step 5 after the replacement.
- OK : Go to next step.
- Check ignition switch.
Check continuity between the connector terminals shown in the chart below.
CONNECTOR TERMINAL RESISTANCESwitch Terminal No. Resistance LOCK All Terminal to Terminal 1 MΩ or more ACC 2 - 3 1 Ω or less ON 2 - 3 - 4
6 - 71 Ω or less START 1 - 2 - 4
6 - 7 - 81 Ω or less - NG : Replace ignition switch. Go to next step 5 after the replacement.
- OK : Go to next step.
- Check voltage between terminal STA of ECM connector and body ground.
PREPARATION:
- Remove the ECM cover.
- Turn the ignition switch ON.
CHECK:
Measure the voltage between terminal STA of the ECM connector and body ground during the engine cranking.
OK:
Voltage:
0 V (Ignition switch ON)
6 V or more (Engine cranking)
- NG : Repair or replace harness or connector.
- OK : Go to next step.
- Check DTC reoccur
PREPARATION:
- Connect the OBD II scan tool to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch ON and push the OBD II scan tool main switch ON.
- Clear DTC (See PRE-CHECK ).
- Drive the vehicle more than 40 km/h (25 mph) for 20 seconds or more.
CHECK:
Check DTC reoccur.
RESULT:
DISPLAY DTC OUTPUTDisplay (DTC Output) Proceed to P0617 A No DTC output B - A : Replace ECM (See Engine Control Module (ECM) )
- B : Check for intermittent problems (See PRE-CHECK )
