Sliding Roof: Disassembly

2004 Toyota Celica GT, StandardSECTION Disassembly
  1. REMOVE SUNSHADE STOPPERS 
    1. Torque: 2.0 N.m (20 kgf.cm, 17 in..lbf) 
  2. REMOVE NO. 1 AND NO. 2 SUNSHADE TRIMS 
  3. REMOVE FRONT HOUSING FRAME 

    Remove the 6 screws and front housing frame as shown in the illustration.

    1. Torque: 2.0 N.m (20 kgf.cm, 17 in..lbf)

  4. REMOVE REAR ROOF DRIP CHANNEL 
  5. REMOVE LH AND RH ROOF DRIP CHANNEL

  6. REMOVE CABLE GUIDE CASING 
    1. Torque: 2.0 N.m (20 kgf.cm, 17 in..lbf) 
  7. REMOVE DRIVE CABLE 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Slide the drive cable rearward, then remove it.
    3. Employ the same manner described above to the other side.

    HINT:

    At the time of reassembly, please refer to the following items.

    • Adjust the drive cable to a closed and tilted down position.
    • Slide the cable forward or backward to align the 2 marks as shown in the illustration.
