ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
1. INSPECT TURN SIGNAL FLASHER CIRCUIT


a. Disconnect the connector from turn signal flasher and inspect the connector on wire harness side as shown in the chart.

b. Connect the connector to turn signal flasher and inspect the wire harness side connector from the back side, as shown in the chart.
2. ILLUMINATED ENTRY SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK
a. The light that is lit in the illuminated entry system is explained below:
HINT:
Reference:
Key cylinder light, room light.
b. Turn the ignition switch OFF open all the doors, and set the driver door in the lock condition.
c. Unlock the driver door and open any one of the doors, and check that the room light goes on. Close the door and check that the room light goes off in about 15 seconds.
d. Turn the ignition switch ON and open and close any one of the doors. Check that the room light immediately goes off.
e. Turn ignition switch OFF.
f. Open and close any one of the doors to light the room light. Before the room light goes off in about 15 seconds, turn the ignition switch ON. Check that the room light goes oft immediately.
g. Turn ignition switch OFF.
h. Open and close any one of the doors to light the room light. Before the light goes off in about 15 seconds, lock the driver door. Check that the light goes off immediately.
3. LIGHT AUTO CUT SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK
a. Turn ignition switch ON.
b. Close the driver door.
c. Turn the light control switch to TAIL or HEAD.
d. Check that the headlight or taillight go oft at once when turn ignition switch OFF and open the driver door.
4. AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (AUTO ON)
a. Turn ignition switch ON.
b. Turn the light control switch to AUTO.
c. Gradually cover the top of the sensor.
d. Verify that the accessory lights and the headlights turn ON.
5. AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (AUTO OFF)
a. Gradually expose the sensor.
b. Verify that the headlights and the accessory lights turn OFF.
6. INSPECT LIGHT-OFF CONDITION
a. Turn the ignition switch ON.
b. Light auto ON:
Gradually cover the top of the sensor.
c. Verify that the lights will go out when light control switch position is OFF or the area surrounding the sensor gets bright or open the driver's door while the ignition switch OFF.
7. INSPECT LIGHT-ON CONDITION
a. Open the driver's door while the ignition switch is OFF.
b. Turn the light control switch to AUTO leaving the door open and cover the top on the sensor, and verify that the lights go on when the ignition switch is turned ON.
8. INSPECT AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR CIRCUIT


a. Disconnect the connector from the sensor and inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown in the chart.


b. Disconnect the connector from the sensor and inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown in the chart.
HINT:
- Ignition switch ON
- Light control switch OFF.
- Vehicle's surrounding are bright.

9. INSPECT AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR CIRCUIT
a. Remove the body ECU with connectors still connected.
b. Inspect the wire harness side connector from the back side, as shown in the chart .

a. Turn ignition switch ON.
b. Close the driver door.
c. Turn the light control switch to TAIL or HEAD.

4. AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (AUTO ON)
a. Turn ignition switch ON.
b. Turn the light control switch to AUTO.

d. Verify that the accessory lights and the headlights turn ON.
5. AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (AUTO OFF)
a. Gradually expose the sensor.
b. Verify that the headlights and the accessory lights turn OFF.
6. INSPECT LIGHT-OFF CONDITION
a. Turn the ignition switch ON.
b. Light auto ON:
Gradually cover the top of the sensor.
c. Verify that the lights will go out when light control switch position is OFF or the area surrounding the sensor gets bright or open the driver's door while the ignition switch OFF.
7. INSPECT LIGHT-ON CONDITION
a. Open the driver's door while the ignition switch is OFF.
b. Turn the light control switch to AUTO leaving the door open and cover the top on the sensor, and verify that the lights go on when the ignition switch is turned ON.
8. INSPECT AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR CIRCUIT
a. Disconnect the connector from the sensor and inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown in the chart.
b. Disconnect the connector from the sensor and inspect the connector on the wire harness side, as shown in the chart.
HINT:
- Ignition switch ON
- Light control switch OFF.
- Vehicle's surrounding are bright.

9. INSPECT AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR CIRCUIT
a. Remove the body ECU with connectors still connected.
