On the navigation menu screen go to the map database status screen to identify the current DVD software version installed:

1. Press MENU.

2. Press the DVD button on the display.

^ Generation 2 map data will be displayed as "data 2000 Ver. 1."

^ Generation 3 map data will be displayed as "data 2001 Ver. 1."

NOTE:
Installing a 2001 Version 1 disc into a vehicle that originally came with a 2000 Version 1 disc is a one-way process. Once the 2001 Version 1 disc is inserted into the navigation ECU, the 2000 Version 1 disc may no longer be playable in that navigation ECU.
