REPLACEMENT / Air Bag Sensor Assembly Center
1. PRECAUTION
2. SEPARATE BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSY CENTER [55420A]
4. REMOVE FLOOR CARPET COVER CENTER RH [58533C]
5. REMOVE FLOOR CARPET COVER CENTER LH [58534E]
6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LOWER CENTER [554MB]
7. REMOVE AIR DUCT REAR NO.1 [87212/98-187]
8. REMOVE AIR DUCT REAR NO.2 [87213 /98-187]

9. REMOVE AIR BAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER [89170/98-173]
a. Remove the clamp from the air bag sensor assy center.
b. Disconnect the 3 connectors from the air bag sensor assy center.
c. Remove the 3 bolts and air bag sensor assy center.
10. INSPECT AIR BAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER [89170 /98-173]
11. INSTALL AIR BAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER (89170/98-173]
a. Check that the ignition switch turn OFF.
b. Check that the battery negative terminal is disconnected.
NOTE: Do not start the operation for 90 seconds after removing the terminal.
c. Temporarily install the air bag sensor assy center with the 3 bolts.
d. Tighten the 3 bolts to the specified torque.
Torque: 20 N.m (200 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf)
e. Connect the connector to the air bag sensor assy center.
f. Check that no play is identified.
g. Check that the water-proof sheet is properly set.
12. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT

4. REMOVE FLOOR CARPET COVER CENTER RH [58533C]
5. REMOVE FLOOR CARPET COVER CENTER LH [58534E]
6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LOWER CENTER [554MB]
7. REMOVE AIR DUCT REAR NO.1 [87212/98-187]
8. REMOVE AIR DUCT REAR NO.2 [87213 /98-187]
9. REMOVE AIR BAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER [89170/98-173]
a. Remove the clamp from the air bag sensor assy center.
b. Disconnect the 3 connectors from the air bag sensor assy center.
c. Remove the 3 bolts and air bag sensor assy center.
10. INSPECT AIR BAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER [89170 /98-173]
11. INSTALL AIR BAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER (89170/98-173]
a. Check that the ignition switch turn OFF.
b. Check that the battery negative terminal is disconnected.
NOTE: Do not start the operation for 90 seconds after removing the terminal.
c. Temporarily install the air bag sensor assy center with the 3 bolts.
d. Tighten the 3 bolts to the specified torque.
Torque: 20 N.m (200 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf)
e. Connect the connector to the air bag sensor assy center.
f. Check that no play is identified.
g. Check that the water-proof sheet is properly set.
12. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
