- Ensure ring end gap and side clearance are within specification. See PISTONS, PINS & RINGS under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.CAUTION: No. 1 compression ring contains a 1N identification mark and No. 2 compression ring contains a 2N identification mark stamped on top of compression ring. Ensure compression rings are installed in correct location.
- Ensure identification marks on compression rings are toward top of piston. Position piston ring end gaps at designated areas. See Fig 1.
