- Ensure plunger moves freely inward and outward on No. 2 timing chain tensioner when pawl is raised upward.See Fig 3. Release pawl and ensure plunger is locked and does not move when pressure is applied on plunger.
- Ensure oil jet on rear of No. 2 timing chain tensioner is not clogged or damaged by applying air pressure to rear of No. 2 timing chain tensioner. Air should pass out holes on body of No. 2 timing chain tensioner. See Fig 3. Replace No. 2 timing chain tensioner if operation is not as specified.
