Governor Valve: Disassembly

1986 Toyota Tercel SR5SECTION Disassembly

Remove snap ring and washer. Remove governor body support. Pry up retaining ring slightly with a screwdriver. Pull out governor body with support. Compress spring by pushing up on the shaft and down on the weight. Remove "E" clip with screwdriver. Lift off governor weight. Remove governor valve by sliding the valve through the bore. See Fig 1.
