Counter Gear & Rear Bearing

1983 Toyota Tercel DX, 2D Hatchback, StandardSECTION Counter Gear & Rear Bearing
  1. Check gear teeth and bearing for wear or damage. If bearing is worn or damaged, replace it. Using 2 drivers and a hammer, tap out snap ring. Using a press and remover, press out bearing.
  2. Install front snap ring. Using a press and remover, press in bearing. Select a snap ring that will allow minimum axial play and install it on the shaft. See COUNTER GEAR REAR BEARING SNAP RING SELECTIONΒ  .
