- Install drive pinion races into gear carrier. Assemble drive pinion bearings on adjusting gauge (09530-30012 ) in differential gear carrier. See Figure. Only tighten bolt of gauge until drive pinion has no play.
- Place master gauge in differential side bearing bores. Align index marks and install caps. Torque cap bolts. Select depth adjusting shim that will just fit between master gauge and base rod head. Remove special tools.
- Press selected depth adjusting shim and rear bearing onto drive pinion. Chamfered side of shim faces toward gear.
