Road Test: Notes

2013 Suzuki SX4 Crossover, Automatic CVT TransSECTION Notes

The purpose of this test is to diagnose trouble conditions accurately and to check the condition after servicing. Also check for shift shock or abnormal noise.

WARNING: If you do not select a suitable route and take proper precautions when performing a road test, an accident can occur.
  • Select a level road with no traffic to minimize the risk of accident.
  • Perform the test extremely carefully.
  • Perform the road test using 2 persons, a driver and an assistant.
  1. Check CVT fluid level, see CVT Fluid CheckΒ .
  2. Warm up engine.
  3. With engine running at idle, shift select lever "D" range.
  4. Accelerate vehicle speed by depressing accelerator pedal gradually.
  5. While driving in "D" range, check if gear shift and lock-up occur properly as shown in CVT GEAR SHIFT TABLEΒ .
