2013 Suzuki SX4 Crossover, Automatic CVT TransSECTION Circuit/System Testing

B1925 Left Seat Cushion Sensor 

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the (C2, C4) harness connectors at the heated seat module.
    NOTE: If the resistance is measured with the seat still warm, the resistance may vary within the specified range depending on the temperature of the seat.
  2. Test for 1.9K-300K ohms of resistance between the temperature sensor signal circuit terminal 9 (C4) and the low reference circuit terminal 6 (C2).
    • If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit and low reference circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the seat temperature sensor.
    • If less than the specified range, test for a short between the signal and low reference circuits. If the circuits test normal, replace the seat temperature sensor.
  3. Ignition OFF, connect the (C2, C4) harness connectors to the heated seat module.
  4. Disconnect the harness connector at the seat cushion heating element/temperature sensor.
  5. Ignition ON, test for 4.8-5.2 volts between the temperature sensor signal circuit terminal C and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the heated seat module.
    • If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the heated seat module.
  6. If all circuits test normal, replace the heated seat module.

B2170 Right Seat Cushion Sensor 

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the (C2, C4) harness connectors at the heated seat module.
    NOTE: If the resistance is measured with the seat still warm, the resistance may vary within the specified range depending on the temperature of the seat.
  2. Test for 1.9K-300K ohms of resistance between the temperature sensor signal circuit terminal 20 (C4) and the low reference circuit terminal 8 (C2).
    • If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit and low reference circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the seat temperature sensor.
    • If less than the specified range, test for a short between the signal and low reference circuits. If the circuits test normal, replace the seat temperature sensor.
  3. Ignition OFF, connect the (C2, C4) harness connectors to the heated seat module.
  4. Disconnect the harness connector at the seat cushion heating element/temperature sensor.
  5. Ignition ON, test for 4.8-5.2 volts between the temperature sensor signal circuit terminal C and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the heated seat module.
    • If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the heated seat module.
  6. If all circuits test normal, replace the heated seat module.
