WARNING:
If vacuum is applied using your mouth, there is a risk of inhaling harmful fuel vapor. Be sure to use a hand vacuum pump to apply vacuum.
- With ignition switch turned OFF, disconnect connector and vacuum hoses from canister purge valve.
- Remove engine cover, see AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove EVAP canister purge valve from intake manifold.
- Check resistance between two terminals of EVAP canister purge valve.
If resistance is as specified, proceed to next operation check. If not, replace EVAP canister purge valve.

22 - 26 Ω at 20°C (68°F)
- Check EVAP canister purge valve for operation using special tool as follows.WARNING: If vacuum is applied by sucking at the valve, there is a risk of inhaling harmful fuel vapor that may present inside the valve. Be sure to use a hand vacuum pump to apply vacuum.
