4WD CONTROL SYSTEM COMPONENT FUNCTION CHART

Part Name Function
2WD/i-AWD switch Output ON and OFF signal of 2WD/i-AWD switch to 4WD control module.
i-AWD indicator light Indicates vehicle is at i-AWD position.
i-AWD warning light Lights or blinks when 4WD control system has an abnormality.
4WD control module
  • Controls the current to the coupling assembly and vehicle switching to each position.
  • Diagnosis 4WD control system components.
  • Output operation signal of indicator to BCM.
Coupling assembly The driving forces is generated by the signal transmitted from the 4WD control module to the rear wheels.
Coupling air temperature sensor Measures ambient temperature of the coupling.
Transfer oil temperature sensor Measures transfer oil temperature.
