Engine Cooling System Inspection
- Check cooling system for leakage or damage.
- Remove radiator cap.
- Check coolant for proper level and freeze protection.
- Check for check cooling system for leakage from cooling system using the following procedures:
- Attach special tool to water filler, and then apply specified pressure to cooling system.

Cooling system holding pressure
123 kPa (1.3 kgf/cm 2 , 17.3 psi)
- Check that cooling system holds the pressure.
If cooling system does not hold applied pressure, check cooling system for leakage.
- Attach special tool to water filler, and then apply specified pressure to cooling system.
- Check radiator cap according to the following procedure.
- Attach special tool to radiator cap (1), and then apply specified pressure.NOTE: Apply water or coolant to rubber seals before attaching special tool to radiator cap.

Radiator cap valve opening pressure
93 - 123 kPa (0.9 - 1.3 kgf/cm 2 , 13.4 - 17.3 psi)
- If radiator cap valve opening pressure is out of specification, replace radiator cap.
- Attach special tool to radiator cap (1), and then apply specified pressure.
- Detach special tool and rinse off spilled coolant.
- Install radiator cap on water filler.
