Body Control Module Replacement

Removal Procedure

NOTE: If data is not retrieved from the malfunctioning body control module (BCM), additional time will be required to program the replacement BCM.

1. Retrieve data from the malfunctioning BCM.
2. Rotate the ignition switch to the OFF position.






3. Remove the Instrument Panel Lower Brace Bezel.
4. Disconnect the BCM electrical harnesses.






5. Remove the BCM (1) from the instrument panel (I/P) retainer:
a. Pry the BCM tabs from the locking tabs on the underside of the restraint.
b. Slide the BCM out of the retainer.

Installation Procedure






1. Install the BCM.
2. Install the Instrument Panel Lower Brace Bezel.
3. Slide the BCM (1) tabs into the slots in the I/P retainer until the tabs lock into place.






4. Connect the electrical connectors.
5. Program a new or a remanufactured BCM.
