The starter motor consists of parts and has permanent magnets mounted in starting motor yoke (frame). Use exploded view of starter for overhaul. See Fig 1 . The magnetic switch assembly and parts in the starting motor are enclosed in the housings so that they will be protected against possible dirt and water splash.

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:
