Transmission Range Switch (A/T)

2001 Suzuki Grand Vitara JLS, StandardSECTION Transmission Range Switch (A/T)
NOTE: Transmission Range (TR) switch may also be referred to as Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch or shift switch.
  1. Apply parking brake. Place shift lever in Neutral. Transmission Range (TR) switch is located on top of transaxle just below shift cable. See Figure .
  2. Loosen TR switch retaining bolts. Rotate shift switch so neutral reference line aligns with center line on manual valve shaft. See Fig 1 . Tighten TR switch retaining bolts to 15 ft. lbs. (20 N.m). Ensure engine starts only with shift lever in Park and Neutral.
