Installation (Samurai, Sidekick & Swift SOHC)

1990 Suzuki Swift GL, 2D Hatchback, StandardSECTION Installation (Samurai, Sidekick & Swift SOHC)
  1. On Sidekick, install PTC heater. On all models, install new throttle body base gasket on intake manifold. Install throttle body. Torque throttle body mounting bolts to 13-20 ft. lbs. (18-27 N.m).
  2. Connect fuel feed pipe with new "O" ring. Torque fuel feed pipe bolts to 71-106 INCH lbs. (8.0-11.9 N.m). Connect fuel return line to fuel pressure regulator (Samurai and Sidekick).
  3. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Refill cooling system. Connect negative battery cable. Check for fuel leaks. On Samurai and Sidekick, with fuel pump relay connected, install a jumper wire between fuel pump relay Pink/Black and Black/White wires. Fuel pump relay is located on right kick panel, above ECM. See Figure .
  4. On Sidekick, with control relay connected, install a jumper wire between control relay Pink/Black and Black/White wires. Control relay is located on left kick panel. See Figure .
  5. On Swift (SOHC), with fuel pump relay connected, install a jumper wire between fuel pump relay Pink and White/Blue wires. Fuel pump relay is located in main fuse box, near battery. See Figure . 6) On all models, turn ignition on, engine off. This will activate fuel pump. Adjust accelerator cable, A/T kickdown cable (if equipped), throttle position sensor (Samurai and Sidekick) and throttle switch (Swift SOHC M/T). See ADJUSTMENTS article.
