Oil Pump: Inspection

2022 Subaru Impreza Base, 4D Sedan, Automatic CVT TransSECTION Inspection

Check the following items.

  • Check the oil pump for damage and wear.
  • Rotate the oil pump by hand, and check that it rotates smoothly.
  1. Measure the secondary pressure. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580 IMPREZA)>SECONDARY PRESSURE (LINE PRESSURE) TEST>INSPECTIONΒ .
  2. Remove the oil pan and oil strainer. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580 IMPREZA)>OIL PAN AND STRAINER>REMOVALΒ .
  3. Check oil strainer for clogging.

    When oil strainer has no clogging, replace the oil pump.
