Intake Manifold Assembly: Removal
2022 Subaru Impreza Base, 4D Sedan, Automatic CVT TransSECTION Removal

- If the fuel delivery tube is disconnected after removing the intake manifold assembly, perform the following work.
- Release the fuel pressure. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO(HEV))>FUEL>PROCEDURE>RELEASING OF FUEL PRESSURE .
- Open the fuel filler lid and remove the fuel filler cap.
NOTE:This operation is required to release the inner pressure of the fuel tank.
- Disconnect the ground terminal from battery. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Remove the clip from the air intake boot, and loosen the clamp.
- Remove the air intake boot, and place it aside so that it does not interfere with the work.CAUTION:
Be careful not to pull out the PCV hose.
- Remove the collector cover. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>COLLECTOR COVER>REMOVAL .
- Remove the PCV hose No. 1. Ref. to EMISSION CONTROL (AUX. EMISSION CONTROL DEVICES) (H4DO(HEV))>PCV HOSE>REMOVAL>PCV HOSE NO. 1 .
- When the engine coolant (engine side) is not drained before removing the intake manifold assembly
- Disconnect the connector (A).
- Remove the bolts securing the throttle body, and move the throttle body aside so that it does not interfere with the work.
- Remove the EGR control valve. Ref. to EMISSION CONTROL (AUX. EMISSION CONTROL DEVICES) (H4DO(HEV))>EGR CONTROL VALVE>REMOVAL
.NOTE:
The work can be performed without disconnecting the preheater hose.
- Remove the preheater hose.
- When the engine coolant (engine side) is drained before removing the intake manifold assembly
- Disconnect the connector (A), and disconnect the preheater hose (B).
- Remove the EGR control valve. Ref. to EMISSION CONTROL (AUX. EMISSION CONTROL DEVICES) (H4DO(HEV))>EGR CONTROL VALVE>REMOVAL .
- Disconnect the connector (A), and disconnect the preheater hose (B).
- Disconnect the connector (A).
- Disconnect the connector (B) and remove the clip (C).
- Disconnect the evaporation hose (D).
- Remove the bolt securing the fuel pipe.
- Disconnect the connector (A).
- Remove the fuel delivery tube clamp (B).
- Remove the clip.
- Disconnect connector (A) from ECM. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO(HEV))>ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM)>REMOVAL .
- Disconnect the connector (B) from the main fuse box, and remove the engine wiring harness from the clip (C).
- Disconnect the positive terminal of battery. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Release the claw securing the engine wiring harness to the bracket, and place it aside so that it does not interfere with work.
- Remove the clip (A) securing the HV air conditioning wire.
- Remove the fuel pipe protector No. 1.
- Disconnect the connector (A) and remove the clips.
- Remove the fuel delivery tube.
- Remove the intake manifold assembly.
- Remove the cylinder head plate.NOTE:
Perform this procedure when required.
- Disconnect the fuel delivery pipe. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO(HEV))>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>REMOVAL>QUICK CONNECTOR DISCONNECTION (TYPE C) .
- Disconnect the fuel delivery pipe (A). Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO(HEV))>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>REMOVAL>QUICK CONNECTOR DISCONNECTION (TYPE B) .
- Disconnect the fuel delivery tube (B). Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO(HEV))>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>REMOVAL>QUICK CONNECTOR DISCONNECTION (TYPE A) .
